Saudi Arabia, Türkiye Sign MoU to Boost Cooperation in Accounting and Auditing

Makkah, August 2, 2025, SPA -- The General Court of Audit (GCA) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Court of Accounts of the Republic of Türkiye signed today a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance cooperation in accounting, auditing, and professional development. The agreement reflects both parties’ commitment to building partnerships and exchanging expertise.
The MoU was signed by President of the GCA Dr. Hussam Alangari and President of the Turkish Court of Accounts Metin Yener at the GCA’s Makkah branch.
Under the terms of the MoU, the two Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) will collaborate on financial, compliance, and performance auditing, exchange expertise, and build professional capacities. The agreement includes cooperation in research and advisory projects, the organization of joint meetings, conferences, and training programs on topics of mutual interest. This partnership is framed within the activities of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) and the Asian Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI), of which both parties are members.
Dr. Alangari highlighted the GCA’s commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation and expanding partnerships with counterpart institutions. He noted that the GCA’s numerous MoUs underscore its strong professional standing and its active role in sharing expertise within regional and international audit communities.
For his part, Yener affirmed the importance of the MoU in enhancing joint efforts between the Turkish Court of Accounts and the GCA, contributing to increased efficiency and improved audit quality at both institutions.
Following the signing, both sides held a bilateral meeting with specialists from each SAI to discuss areas of joint work and ways to align their approaches on relevant topics.
