Malaysia Set to Host World Tourism Day 2025 in September

ALOR GAJAH (Melaka, Malaysia) Aug 3 (Bernama) -- Malaysian state of Melaka is almost 90 per cent ready to host the World Tourism Day (WTD) 2025 celebrations from Sept 27 to 29.
State Tourism, Heritage, Arts and Culture Committee chairman Abdul Razak Abdul Rahman said the preparations cover programme content, the selection of the main event venue and invitations to international delegates, particularly tourism ministers from around the world and members of the United Nations World Tourism Organisation.
“We are in the final stages of preparation, with only about 10 to 15 percent of work remaining. Everything is going smoothly, and I am confident the event will be well attended by tourism ministers worldwide, to whom invitations have already been sent,” he told reporters here Sunday.
Abdul Razak said the main venues for the WTD 2025 events have been finalised. The World Tourism Conference will be held at a hotel in Melaka Raya, while the WTD 2025 Gala Dinner and launch of Visit Malaysia Year (VMY) 2026 will take place at a multi-purpose performance centre in Kota Syahbandar.
He said the centre will also showcase cultural and artistic performances from all 14 states, welcoming both invited guests and the public.
“The venue is ideal for the WTD 2025 finale and the VMY 2026 launch as it will highlight Melaka’s unique appeal and strategic location along the Straits of Melaka to the international delegates,” he said.
