HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister meets with the CEO of the LMRA and Chairman of the National Committee for Combatting Trafficking in Persons

Manama, Aug. 3 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, along with His Excellency General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, the Minister of Interior, today met with Nibras Talib, the Chief Executive Officer of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority and Chairman of the National Committee for Combatting Trafficking in Persons, along with members of the committee, at Riffa Palace.
The meeting coincided with the occasion of World Day Against Trafficking in Persons.
His Royal Highness affirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s steadfast commitment, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, to protecting rights, and safeguarding freedoms.
HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad highlighted the Kingdom’s ongoing efforts to advance legislation that supports labour rights and the interests of business owners. HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad noted that these efforts form part of the Kingdom’s broader national initiatives to combat human trafficking, enhance the work environment, improve related services, and consolidate the Kingdom’s position in this regard.
His Royal Highness commended the efforts of the Committee and relevant entities, commending their achievements driven by a sense of unity, and wished them continued success in fulfilling the Kingdom’s aspirations.
His Royal Highness emphasised the importance of strengthening the legislative framework and implementing policies and plans to support anti-trafficking efforts.
For their part, the Minister of Interior and Nibras Talib extended their gratitude for His Royal Highness’s support, affirming their commitment to enhancing the Kingdom’s regional and international stance in safeguarding labour rights and combating human trafficking.
