McLaren seals another one-two finish at Hungarian Grand Prix

Budapest, Aug. 3 (BNA): McLaren, owned by Mumtalakat Holding Company, the Kingdom of Bahrain’s sovereign wealth fund, secured a one-two victory at the Hungarian Grand Prix held today at the Hungaroring circuit in Budapest.
British driver Lando Norris took first place, finishing 0.698 seconds ahead of his Australian teammate Oscar Piastri, in a race marked by strong competition between the two drivers.
Norris delivered a calculated and strategic drive, relying on a one-stop strategy that helped him recover from fifth place at the end of the opening lap to take the lead in the closing stages. Piastri, who ran a two-stop strategy, closed a substantial gap but was unable to overtake before the chequered flag.
Mercedes driver George Russell finished third after overtaking Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc, who started from pole position but finished fourth.
With this result, Norris reduced the gap in the Drivers’ Championship to nine points behind Piastri, who has 284 points compared to Norris’s 275.
This win also strengthens McLaren’s position at the top of the Constructors’ Championship. Both McLaren drivers continue to lead the Drivers’ Championship, confirming the team’s successful strategy and dominance this season.
This exceptional achievement reflects the strength of the team, representing one of Bahrain’s key investments in global sport, and confirms Mumtalakat’s commitment to supporting international sport and enhancing the Kingdom’s position on the global sports map.
