Demand for Russian goods in China growing — Russian Export Center
BEIJING, August 4. /TASS/. Demand for Russian products among Chinese consumers is on the rise, with new opportunities emerging for suppliers from Russia, Director General of the Russian Export Centre (REC) Veronika Nikishina told TASS, adding that close attention is being paid to digitalization of trade turnover between the two countries.
"Positive dynamics are expected to continue in coming months. Demand for Russian goods in China is growing, as evidenced by an increase in supplies of dairy products and chocolate," she said.
The opening of the Chinese market to Russian agriculture products such as peas, as well as possible expansion of access for meat products, creates new opportunities for Russian suppliers, Nikishina noted. "Access for pork is open, and we expect it to open for beef," she said.
Moscow should be prepared for deepening technological and innovative cooperation with China in the next few years, which is in line with the Made in China 2025 strategy, the national plan for the development of the manufacturing sector of the People's Republic, Nikishina added. "REC will continue to focus on digitalization of services for exporters through the My Export information system, which is designed to simplify the interaction between the exporter and the state by transferring it completely to a digital format, she said, adding that "this will improve the efficiency of foreign trade activities."
Trade turnover between Russia and China rose by 26.3% in 2023 to $240 bln as per the General Administration of Customs of China. In 2024, it hit a record level of $244 bln.
