Qatar Condemns Israeli Finance Minister's Approval of Settlement Plans Separating East Jerusalem from the Occupied West Bank

Doha, August 14 (QNA) - The State of Qatar condemned the Israeli Finance Minister's approval of plans to construct a settlement that would separate East Jerusalem from the occupied West Bank, considering it a blatant violation of international law, particularly the UN Security Council Resolution 2334.
In a statement today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed Qatar's categorical rejection of the Israeli policies of expanding settlements and forcibly displacing the Palestinian people, which aim to prevent the establishment of a Palestinian state. The Ministry stressed the need for the international community to unite in order to compel the Israeli occupation to halt its settlement plans and to comply with international law resolutions.
The Ministry reiterated the State of Qatar's firm and unwavering stance in support of the Palestinian cause and the steadfastness of the brotherly Palestinian people, based on international law resolutions and the two-state solution, ensuring the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
