10,000 Projects from 169 Countries Compete in Entrepreneurship World Cup

Riyadh, August 15, 2025, SPA -- The preliminary rounds of the 2025 Entrepreneurship World Cup began with overwhelming global participation, as the number of entries doubled compared to last year, reaching over 10,000 projects submitted by entrepreneurs from 169 countries.
The Saudi capital, Riyadh, will host the global finals of the competition, organized by the Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority “Monsha’at,” in partnership with the Mohammed bin Salman Foundation “Misk” and the Global Entrepreneurship Network “GEN.” The hosting reflects the Kingdom’s growing position as a global hub for innovators and entrepreneurial ventures.
The projects cover 16 main sectors, including agriculture, food industries, healthcare, social work, manufacturing, education, and information and communications technology.
An international jury of experts in entrepreneurship, innovation, and investment selected the top 1,000 projects from 122 countries to advance to the next stages of the competition before shortlisting 250 projects in the penultimate stage, leading to the final selection of the top 100 projects. These will be presented to leading global investors in Riyadh, competing for total cash prizes of $1.5 million.
Hosting this competition in Riyadh underscores the Kingdom’s rising appeal for entrepreneurship, backed by a growth-oriented and innovation-driven ecosystem, advanced support and investment infrastructure, and a business environment that facilitates access for promising ventures to markets, attracts global investments, and strengthens Saudi Arabia’s position as a key platform for entrepreneurial solutions.
