MWL Condemns Israeli Settlement Plans in West Bank, Jerusalem
Makkah, August 15, 2025, SPA -- The Muslim World League (MWL) strongly condemned the Israeli occupation government's approval of plans to build new settlements in the West Bank and around occupied Jerusalem, along with extremist remarks by Israel’s foreign minister rejecting a Palestinian state, describing these actions as provocative, illegitimate, and a deliberate obstruction to ending the war and achieving peace.
In a statement, MWL Secretary-General and Chairman of the Muslim Scholars Association Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Al-Issa denounced the Israeli government’s persistent disregard for the lives and legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, as well as its violations of international and humanitarian laws and norms in the occupied territories. He warned that the extremist government's criminal actions pose a serious threat to the region and the international community, representing the greatest obstacle to achieving a just and comprehensive peace.
Al-Issa reaffirmed the justice of the Palestinian cause and the historical and legal right of the Palestinian people to their land. He called on the international community to take a sincere and serious stand in fulfilling its legal and moral responsibilities to end the humanitarian tragedy facing the Palestinian people and to support their legitimate right to self-determination and the establishment of their state.
