61st National Sports School Contest Closes in DPRK

Pyongyang, August 16 (KCNA) -- The 61st National Sports School Contest closed in the DPRK.
The contest took place in Pyongyang Municipality, and Phyongsong, Sariwon, Wonsan and Samjiyon cities, etc. from mid-July. In the contest, students selected from all provinces, cities and counties competed in more than 20 events, including football, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, and boxing.
They proved successful at the events by displaying the sports techniques they cultivated in their day-to-day training, dogged fighting spirit, team spirit and good sportsmanship.
Present at the closing ceremony held in Tongnim County on August 15 were officials concerned, players and schoolchildren in Tongnim County.
Trophy cups and medals were awarded to the teams and players who proved successful in the contest. -0-
