BSA participates in specialised symposium on space cybersecurity organised by wolfSSL

Manama, Aug. 16 (BNA): Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim Al Aseeri, Chief Executive of the Bahrain Space Agency (BSA), participated in an international symposium on cybersecurity for the satellite industry, organised by the US company wolfSSL, a leading provider of space security solutions. The event explored cutting-edge technologies designed to protect space infrastructure from advanced cyber threats.
Dr. Al Aseeri highlighted the importance of such platforms in addressing key challenges, including the protection of satellite communications, the adoption of quantum-resistant encryption to counter future risks, and the need for robust systems to secure satellite launches and operations.
He affirmed Bahrain’s commitment to building secure space systems, stressing that cybersecurity is now a strategic requirement for space assets. He noted that BSA is already integrating advanced security technologies into its satellite projects, citing the Al Munther satellite as an example of Bahraini innovation in this field.
He said that BSA’s participation reflects the Kingdom’s drive to strengthen the resilience of its space infrastructure, benefit from global expertise, and expand partnerships with technology leaders, reinforcing Bahrain’s role as an emerging player in both space and cybersecurity at the regional level.
WolfSSL, founded in 2004, has established itself as a global leader in space cybersecurity solutions, with a proven track record and a wide portfolio of technologies.
