Afforestation Brisk in Different Provinces of DPRK

 Pyongyang, August 18 (KCNA) -- Afforestation is progressing apace in different parts of the DPRK in a far-sighted way.
South Hamgyong Province is creating a mixed forest with trees of high economic value while concentrating efforts on protecting them. Officials and workers in the province are planting hundreds of thousands of trees including pine and chestnut trees in the mountains around Ragwonpho, where a modern marine industrial base is being built, and are manuring and tending them in a proper way.
North Hwanghae Province has organized a demonstration on the advanced method of raising pine-nut trees in a mother tree nursery under the Yonthan County Forest Management Station and generalized it in cities and counties.
Officials and workers in Ichon County of Kangwon Province have newly created over 180 hectares of wild fruit forestry with trees of good species such as pine-nut and walnut trees to provide a material foundation for supplying raw materials to the regional-industry factories.
Tokchon City of South Phyongan Province, Sinphyong County of North Hwanghae Province, Songhwa County of South Hwanghae Province, Huichon City of Jagang Province, Unjong District of Pyongyang Municipality and Taean District of Nampho Municipality are creating, protecting and tending forests on a mass campaign. -0-
