Shura Chairman marks World Humanitarian Day

Manama, Aug. 18 (BNA): Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council, emphasised that Bahrain’s humanitarian achievements reflect the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, whose commitment has advanced charitable and humanitarian work at home and abroad. He expressed pride in Bahrain’s pioneering role in comprehensive humanitarian initiatives and charitable projects, guided by the King’s directives.
Al Saleh noted that under the leadership of His Majesty, Bahrain has become a distinguished humanitarian model through the Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF), which has delivered medical, food, and relief aid to countries affected by crises, most notably this year’s assistance to Gaza, in line with royal directives.
Marking World Humanitarian Day, observed annually on August 19, he noted that Bahrain’s humanitarian record enhances its regional and international standing, making it a leading example of providing relief and aid to people affected by disasters and crises.
He commended the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for its national efforts in advancing humanitarian and charitable work through innovative programmes and initiatives that support those in need inside and outside the Kingdom.
The chairman highlighted that Bahrain’s humanitarian projects have reinforced its reputation as a giving nation and a beacon of charitable work, contributing significantly to supporting affected communities worldwide and advancing sustainable development goals, including this year’s relief assistance to Gaza.
He commended Bahrain’s role in extending humanitarian aid to countries and peoples facing crises and highlighted the continued contributions of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister in this domain.
Al Saleh also commended the support of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of RHF’s Board of Trustees, whose guidance has driven the foundation’s success and strengthened community partnerships, further enhancing Bahrain’s regional and international standing.
He emphasised that these humanitarian achievements are the result of the King’s directives and the leadership of Shaikh Nasser, which have established the RHF as a model for institutional humanitarian work. He added that this year witnessed continued excellence in delivering urgent aid, particularly to Gaza, as well as initiatives in health, education, and social care, reinforcing Bahrain’s image as a nation committed to high humanitarian values.
