KHGC Chairman: Royal Vision reinforces Kingdom’s global humanitarian contributions

Manama, Aug. 18 (BNA): Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the King Hamad Global Centre for Coexistence and Tolerance (KHGC), affirmed that the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, have firmly established the values of solidarity and sustainability. He affirmed that this approach has strengthened Bahrain’s position as a pioneering partner in humanitarian action through comprehensive programmes and initiatives that advance human welfare and development.

The KHGC Chairman commended the prominent role of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF), in enhancing the Foundation’s contributions as a global humanitarian institution distinguished by its efforts in care, relief, and sustainable development at both local and international levels.

Marking World Humanitarian Day, Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed noted that Bahrain joins the international community in highlighting the importance of giving, extending assistance to those in need, and alleviating the consequences of wars, crises, and natural disasters.

He added that under the leadership of His Majesty the King, the Kingdom has become a unique model of humanitarian work, embodying the highest values of compassion and underscoring the link between peace and development. Initiatives such as the call for an international peace conference in the Middle East, the provision of education and healthcare to conflict-affected communities, the Isa Award for Service to Humanity, and the King Hamad Award for Coexistence and Tolerance, all reflect the Kingdom’s boundless humanitarian commitment.

The KHGC Chairman also expressed appreciation for the efforts of international organisations, UN agencies, and frontline relief workers, stressing the importance of ensuring their protection and honouring with gratitude those who sacrificed their lives or were injured while carrying out humanitarian duties.

He underlined that the King Hamad Global Centre for Coexistence and Tolerance continues to contribute across diverse humanitarian fields, with a focus on education, training, and capacity-building. Guided by the royal vision, the Centre affirms that humanitarian work is both a duty and a value that unites humanity, inspiring new hope and lasting impact in the pursuit of peace, cooperation, and harmony.
