Activities of Scientific Farming Promotion Teams Brisk in DPRK

Pyongyang, August 31 (KCNA) -- According to Rodong Sinmun, the scientific farming promotion teams conduct brisk activities to minimize crop damage to cope with the disastrous weather.
The promotion teams held a tele-technical consultative meeting on preventing harmful insects of paddy rice and worked out and distributed to the farms across the country the crop growth forecast describing scientific measures for cultivating and managing crops on the basis of satellite images and data on crop growth survey.
Officials and researchers of the Academy of Agricultural Sciences went to areas where downpour and heavy rains fell in order to prevent the spread of harmful insects and increase root activity.
The scientific farming promotion team dispatched to South Hwanghae Province conducted field technical lectures and passing-on technique meetings dealing with scientific and technological problems arising in the manuring and cultivation of paddy rice in the latter half of its growth in front of field technical officials and farmers including primary officials of the Township Farm in Chongdan County..
The scientific farming promotion team dispatched to North Hamgyong Province, in close contact with officials of city and county agricultural guidance organs, provides a guarantee for increasing grain yield by giving scientific and technological guidance to make it possible to effectively  introduce agricultural sci- tech products.
In Jagang Province, the members of the scientific farming promotion team went to cities and counties and conduct field technical lectures to disseminate technical problems arising in minimizing damage to crops caused by downpour and heavy rain and the work to give ways to make sure that the farms take preventive and relief measures by themselves.
In North Phyongan Province, the members of the scientific farming promotion team have taken measures for scientific fertilizing measure of germicide on the spot and for providing favourable conditions for the growth of crops. -0-
