Dry-field Irrigation Projects Finished in Pyongyang Municipality
Pyongyang, September 1 (KCNA) -- Pyongyang Municipality in the DPRK completed the dry-field irrigation projects planned for this year ahead of three months.
The irrigation system of over 590 hectares of dry fields has been improved to lay a solid foundation for stably developing agricultural production in the region despite unfavorable weather conditions.
The Municipal Rural Economy Committee has conducted operation and command to build all the irrigation facilities on a permanent way in the shortest span of time so that farms can benefit from the irrigation system from this year's farming.
The districts and counties pushed forward with dry-field irrigation projects, giving priority to ensuring their quality.
The Rangnang Disabled Soldiers' Essential Plastic Goods Factory increased the production of over 45 000 meters of various kinds of plastic pipes, contributing to the irrigation construction.
The employees of the Pyongyang Motor Factory devoted their wisdom and enthusiasm to producing motors for dry-field irrigation, and many working people in the municipality rendered material and moral assistance to the successful irrigation projects.
