Foreign missions to see Yemen banking reforms
SANA'A, July 14 (Saba) - Foreign delegations are due in Yemen which will visit the
Yemen Central Bank with the aim to familiarize with achievements Yemen has made on
the banking and administrative sector.
Public relation officer at the YCB Yahya Mohammed al-Kastaban said the delegations
which visited and those are due in the country so far this month include one from
the Debt Management Unit, a subsidiary of the United Nations Conference on Trade and
Development, a delegation from the Middle East Technical Assistance Center (METAC),
a multilateral mission from the International Monetary Fund and a delegation from
the Financial Services Volunteer Corps (FSVC).
He highlighted improvements in the financial sector amid the global economic
turndown, including creating an automatic deposit data system which was established
in association with the UAE Central Bank.
The system has started receiving information about the banks in Yemen, helping
collecting information about debts and reducing risks of debts in the country.
