Saudi Arabia's Rise as Gaming and Esports Hub Discussed at GSR25 Panel

Riyadh, September 02, 2025, SPA -- Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Esports Federation (SEF) Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz highlighted the Kingdom’s successful hosting of several international events that showcased its digital infrastructure capabilities. Notably, the Esports World Cup over the last two years garnered significant global participation and attendance.
This statement was made during a panel discussion titled "Powering the Future of Gaming and Esports," held as part of the exhibition accompanying the Global Symposium for Regulators (GSR25), attended by Minister of Communications and Information Technology Abdullah Alswaha.
Prince Faisal noted that the gaming sector is experiencing rapid growth, with investments exceeding $40 billion. He also highlighted the Saudi Team Falcons’ victory in the Esports World Cup as a significant milestone for Saudi Arabia.
He emphasized that the Kingdom has emerged as a global hub for the gaming and esports sector, driven by the adoption of a comprehensive national strategy spearheaded by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
Prince Faisal pointed out that these achievements reflect the Kingdom’s ambitious vision to build a diversified digital economy, empower national talent, and attract global investment.
