During HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s official visit to Egypt, Bahrain and Egypt sign MoU on competition protection, anti-monopoly cooperation

Manama, Sep. 3 (BNA): In the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and as part of the official visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt on cooperation in competition protection and the prevention of monopolistic practices.
The MoU was signed on behalf of Bahrain by Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, and on behalf of Egypt by Ahmed Kouchouk, Minister of Finance.
Minister Fakhro commended the strong bilateral relations between Bahrain and Egypt and highlighted the continuous growth of cooperation across various sectors, particularly in industry and trade, which supports sustainable economic growth and benefits both countries and their peoples.
He emphasised that the signing of the MoU reflects the Ministry of Industry and Commerce’s commitment to expanding and diversifying regional and international partnerships in the field of competition.
The MoU provides an effective framework for institutional cooperation between the two sides in competition protection, supporting the development of relevant policies and procedures, positively impacting the business environment, and enhancing the ability of both countries to address monopolistic practices while promoting sustainable economic development.
The MoU aims to strengthen bilateral cooperation in competition protection and the prevention of monopolistic practices, ensuring a fair business environment and fostering sustainable economic growth in both Bahrain and Egypt.
