Foreign Minister commends HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s visit to Egypt

Manama, Sep. 3 (BNA): Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, commended the official visit of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to the Arab Republic of Egypt, describing it as a new boost to the course of the historical and strategic partnership between the two countries and peoples, under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Excellency Abdel Fattah El Sisi, President of Egypt.

The Foreign Minister highlighted the welcome extended by HE President El Sisi to HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister and his accompanying delegation at Al Ittihadiya Palace. He noted the cordiality and sincerity that characterised the meeting, reflecting HE the Egyptian President’s appreciation for the Kingdom of Bahrain, its leadership, government and people. He further commended the constructive discussions during the meeting, which underlined the strength of ties and close cooperation between Bahrain and Egypt, under the leaderships of both His Majesty the King and HE President El Sisi, in service of the interests of both nations.

Dr. Al Zayani also valued the positive outcomes of the expanded official talks held by HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister with HE President El Sisi, His Excellency Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister of Egypt, and senior Egyptian officials, which emphasised the commitment of both countries’ leaderships and governments to enhance cooperation and strategic partnership across political, economic and cultural domains. He pointed to the alignment of diplomatic views on regional and international issues, within their shared commitment to consolidating security, stability and peace in the region and beyond.

He further noted that the visit was concluded with the signing of a number of agreements and memoranda of understanding that support cooperation, coordination and exchange of expertise in multiple areas, including promoting investment projects, sustainable development, customs cooperation, tourism, labour and human resources, urban and regional planning, youth and sports, social insurance, social affairs, strategic cooperation in exhibitions and joint markets, enhancing investment relations, antiquities and museums, competition protection, and the aluminium industry, all serving common development interests.

The Foreign Minister also expressed Bahrain’s support for and appreciation of Egypt’s diplomatic efforts and initiatives aimed at resolving regional and international conflicts by peaceful means. He highlighted, in particular, the call to end the war in the Gaza Strip, protect civilians, release hostages and detainees, and ensure sustainable delivery of humanitarian aid, alongside implementation of the Arab and Islamic recovery and reconstruction plan for Gaza. He underlined the Kingdom’s efforts to advance just, comprehensive and lasting peace, consistent with its call for an international peace conference, and its aspiration through its non-permanent membership of the UN Security Council during 2026–2027 to advance Arab national security and promote peaceful coexistence, security, stability and prosperity regionally and globally.

Dr. Al Zayani said that the official reception and diplomatic arrangements provided to HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister during the visit to Egypt reflected the esteem in which His Royal Highness is held by the Egyptian leadership and underscored the depth of the historical ties between the leaderships and peoples of the two countries. He underlined their continued commitment to enhancing cooperation and integration towards a comprehensive strategic and developmental partnership, serving as a model of Arab solidarity and joint action, and upholding the principles of security, peace and prosperity for the benefit of the region and the world.
