Name of DPRK Associated with Patriotic Will of Peerlessly Great Man
Pyongyang, September 6 (KCNA) -- It has been 77 years since the Democratic People's Republic of Korea was founded.
Whenever the Korean people think about the name of the country with the honour and pride of being citizens of the DPRK, they look back with deep emotion on the noble patriotic will of President Kim Il Sung who named the country.
After the liberation of Korea (August 15, 1945), the President paid deep attention to the issue of naming the new country.
When the name of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea was put forward, the factionalists completely imbued with flunkeyism said that the name is too long and foreign countries were not named in such a way as to name our country, and that our country should be called "people's republic" or "democratic republic".
The President told the officials that the name of the DPRK was absolutely supported and approved by all the people through the constitution discussion, adding that when we founded the Workers' Party of Korea, we set forth the founding of a democratic people's republic in the political line of the Party and steadily struggled for its realization.
He also noted that there is no need to read others' faces in naming our country as we should name our country to suit the actual conditions of our country and meet the requirements of our people, and that the name of the DPRK clearly reflects its independent, democratic and popular characters.
The President stressed that it is the most reasonable to name the country the Democratic People's Republic of Korea by fully reflecting the will of the people and taking into consideration both the immediate tasks and fundamental purpose of our revolution.
Like this, the President maintained the Juche-oriented stand and popular stand in naming the country from A to Z.
The name of the DPRK is a symbol of the dignity and glory of Juche Korea as it is associated with the ardent patriotism and outstanding foresightedness of the President, the founding father of the country, and his warm love for the people. -0-
