Kyrgyz entrepreneurs received 9.4 billion soms in interest-free loans

Bishkek, Sept. 15, 2025 /Kabar/. The Ministry of Finance provides entrepreneurs with interest-free loans in the amount of more than 9 billion 416 million soms within the framework of Emergency support for micro, small and medium enterprises project.
According to the department, the Cabinet of Ministers’ anti-crisis plan is aimed at supporting small and medium-sized enterprises in crisis situations.
On March 31, 2021, the Emergency support project for micro, small and medium enterprises was launched in the Kyrgyz Republic, financed by the World Bank and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank.
Since its launch and as of September 1, 2025, the total amount of interest-free loans issued amounted to 9 billion 416 million 975 thousand 306 soms. 11,803 entrepreneurs received financial assistance.
Under the 1st category (up to 1 million soms), 9,615 entrepreneurs were issued 5 billion 719 million 132 thousand 424 soms.
Under the 2nd category (up to 3 million soms), 2,188 entrepreneurs received loans for a total of 3 billion 697 million 842 thousand 882 soms.

Criteria for participation in the project:
Category 1 - individual entrepreneurs operating for at least 6 months in accordance with the tax legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic and having an annual turnover of no more than 8 million soms.
Category 2 - individual entrepreneurs and legal entities operating for at least 6 months in accordance with the tax legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic and having an annual turnover of no more than 30 million soms.
Agriculture is not financed.

Amount of financial assistance:
for category 1 – up to 1,000,000 soms inclusive,
for category 2 – up to 3,000,000 soms inclusive.
