Advisor to Prime Minister and Official Spokesperson for Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Convening of Gulf and Arab-Islamic Summits A Historic Event Reflecting Unity of Gulf, Arab, and Islamic Ranks

Doha, September 16 (QNA) - Advisor to the Prime Minister and Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Majed bin Mohammed Al Ansari affirmed that the convening of the Emergency Arab-Islamic Summit Monday in Doha, as well as the convening of the Extraordinary Session of the Supreme Council of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf regarding the Israeli aggression against the State of Qatar, constitutes a historic event that reflects the unity of the Gulf, Arab, and Islamic ranks.
During a press conference held following the conclusion of the Emergency Arab-Islamic Summit, attended by HE Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jassim Mohammed Al Budaiwi, HE Assistant Secretary-General for Political Affairs of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Ambassador Yousef Al Dobeay, and HE Assistant Secretary-General of the League of Arab States Ambassador Hossam Zaki, Al Ansari said that this event that took place in the capital Doha, at the invitation of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani clearly demonstrated the spirit of solidarity among the Arab and Muslim brothers with the State of Qatar following the brutal Israeli aggression that took place on the 9th of this month.
He expressed the State of Qatar’s deep appreciation and gratitude to all the brotherly Arab and Islamic countries for their solidarity with Qatar in the wake of this aggression, explaining that Arab and Muslim leaders gathered in Doha today to express a unified and strong stance against the treacherous Israeli aggression on the State of Qatar, affirming that targeting the sovereignty of an Arab and Islamic state, and a member of the United Nations, constitutes a dangerous escalation and a direct threat to regional and international peace and security.
The Advisor to the Prime Minister and Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs added that this summit is not merely an emergency meeting, but a clear message to the entire world that the Arab and Islamic countries reject aggression, uphold justice and international legitimacy, and affirm that the Palestinian cause will remain at the heart of priorities until the Palestinian people attain their full legitimate rights.
He pointed out that two statements were issued today by the emergency Gulf and Arab-Islamic summits, in which they clearly condemned the Israeli attack and stated that the Israeli behavior and the justifications it relies on are completely invalid, saying in this regard that the evidence for this is what Their Majesties, Excellencies, and Highnesses the leaders confirmed in their statements that all the justifications provided to legitimize this attack on the State of Qatar are invalid under international law and also under all the principles upon which the international community is based.
Al Ansari noted that the two statements issued by the emergency Gulf and Arab-Islamic summits included many steps within the framework of coordination and joint Arab action.
For his part, HE Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council Jassim Mohammed Al Budaiwi reviewed the key points contained in the final statement of the Extraordinary Session of the Supreme Council of the GCC, explaining that the convening of this summit came to affirm the Gulf position in solidarity with the State of Qatar in facing the recent Israeli attacks.
During the press conference, HE Al Budaiwi explained that the Supreme Council of the GCC condemned the Israeli violations against the sovereignty of the State of Qatar and the targeting of civilians and residential facilities, indicating that the leaders of the Council's member states described the recent aggression as a serious escalation and a blatant violation of international law and the UN Charter, and a direct threat to Gulf security and stability.
According to HE Al Budaiwi, the leaders affirmed that the security of GCC states is indivisible, and that any attack on a member state is considered an attack on all, stressing that all capabilities of the Council will be harnessed to protect the State of Qatar and preserve its sovereignty.
He pointed out that the leaders instructed the GCC Joint Defense Council to hold an urgent meeting in Doha to assess the defense situation and sources of threat in light of the recent Israeli aggression, noting that the summit's statement called on the Security Council and active countries in the international community to assume their responsibilities and take firm measures to stop Israeli aggressive practices that undermine peace efforts and threaten international peace and security.
He also noted that the statement praised the efforts of Qatar’s security and civil defense agencies for their swift response, containment of the attack’s repercussions, and protection of civilians.
Al Budaiwi emphasized that the Israeli aggression hinders the vital role of the State of Qatar in mediation efforts, calling on peace-loving nations worldwide to condemn the Israeli crimes and work to unify international efforts to confront them.
HE the Secretary-General of the GCC stressed that the convening of the emergency Gulf and Arab-Islamic summits reflects the great stature and credibility the State of Qatar enjoys regionally and internationally.
For his part, HE Assistant Secretary-General for Political Affairs at the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Ambassador Yousef Al Dobeay addressed the key points issued in the final statement of the Emergency Arab-Islamic Summit. 
He noted that the high-level presence of leaders from Arab countries and the OIC during the summit was a message to the whole world that the sovereignty and territory of the State of Qatar must not be violated, as it is a pivotal country that plays an internationally accepted and agreed-upon mediation role, especially regarding Gaza.
HE Al Dobeay said during the press conference that the convening of the Emergency Arab-Islamic Summit under the current circumstances is a message of solidarity, support, and endorsement of all the measures the State of Qatar is taking to confront the Israeli aggression on its territories, underscoring that any violation of Arab and Islamic lands is a red line that must not be crossed in any form.
He praised the civilized and responsible conduct demonstrated by the State of Qatar in handling this event, which reinforces its well-known image of a diplomatic model committed to international law.
For his part, HE Assistant Secretary-General of the League of Arab States Ambassador Hossam Zaki expressed the Arab League’s appreciation to the State of Qatar for hosting and organizing this major conference, highlighting its importance in enhancing Arab and Islamic solidarity.
During the press conference, he clarified that the speeches delivered by the participating kings, presidents, and leaders expressed a unified stance in support of Qatar’s mediation efforts, confirming the support of all participating countries in the summit for Qatar in these critical political initiatives.
He indicated that the final statement of the Doha Summit addressed several core issues, including condemnation of Israeli attacks and reaffirmation of Qatar's vital role in conflict mediation. He also noted the cooperation between Qatar and sister countries such as the Arab Republic of Egypt, as well as several African countries, in achieving stable and developmental peaceful solutions.
HE the Assistant Secretary-General of the League of Arab States stated that the summit focused on holding Israel fully responsible for the deterioration of the situation in the region and its violation of international law and order, considering the outcomes of this meeting an important step towards addressing the current developments in the region.
Moreover, the speakers at the press conference emphasized the importance of maintaining regional stability through adherence to international laws and norms, confirming that mediation and diplomatic efforts are the optimal path to avoid escalation and protect civilians.
They also called on all parties to respect the outcomes of the Arab and Islamic summits and adhere to the implementation of the recommendations and statements issued, noting that Arab unity and solidarity are key elements in facing the current challenges.
They also underscored that the efforts of the Arab League have continued since the events of October 7, with the Arab-Islamic Committee playing an important role in addressing many complex issues, including some sensitive individual files. (QNA)
