Concrete Sleeper Production Plan Fulfilled in DPRK
Pyongyang, September 16 (KCNA) -- Sleeper production units of the railway transport sector of the DPRK fulfilled the five-year plan of the Ministry of Railways for producing concrete sleepers ahead of schedule and replaced the sleepers with new ones in the sections extending thousands of kilometers.
The Sungho Concrete Sleeper Factory turned the production process into labor-, electricity- and plot-saving one and produced nearly 20 000 more sleepers than its five-year plan.
The sleeper production units under the Pyongyang Railway Bureau overfulfilled their five-year plan.
The Sariwon Sleeper Production Company carried out its plan by taking technical measures for the growth both in quality and quantity of sleepers as well as the production of railway fixtures and mobilizing internal reserves and potentials.
The Chongjin and Rason railway bureaus introduced valuable technical innovations and ensured full operation and capacity of equipment, thus increasing the production of sleepers.
Every railway bureau increased the proportion of mechanization in the railway work and replaced sleepers as required by technical regulations, thus improving the intensity of railways. -0-
