Bahrain tops Arab countries in law and order according to Gallup Law and Order Index

Manama, Sep. 22 (BNA): The Kingdom of Bahrain, alongside the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, has topped the list of Arab countries in adherence to law and order, according to the Gallup Law and Order Index 2025, which measures security and public confidence indicators for 2024.

Counselor Wael Rashid Buallay, Assistant Attorney General, highlighted that Bahrain scored 91 out of 100 on the 2024 Law and Order index. This index is based on extensive surveys of adult citizens and residents from various social groups, men and women, measuring their sense of security and confidence in law enforcement agencies. The evaluation focuses on factors such as people’s feeling of safety in certain situations, their trust in the police and their ability to maintain order and protect society, as well as crime rates.

He noted that the report covered more than 140 countries, and it gains its credibility from building on specific criteria that locate each country's position on the global security map. Such international rankings reflect the strength of public order and the rule of law, contributing to the general feeling of safety among the population and confirming their trust in the institutions responsible for their protection.

The Assistant Attorney General added that the Kingdom’s ranking in this international classification reflects the stability enjoyed by Bahraini society. It also serves as international recognition of the national efforts to establish the rule of law and develop the security and judicial systems in a way that guarantees rights and freedoms. This increases the responsibilities of all institutions and security and judicial bodies responsible for enforcing the law to continue working to consolidate and enhance this position.

The index is issued by Gallup, a multinational research and consultancy organisation founded in 1935, with about forty offices worldwide. Gallup specialises in analyses and consultations and is well-known for its public opinion polls internationally, as well as providing consultancy services to many global institutions.
