Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan to build trade-logistics complex

Bishkek, Sept 23, 2025. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan jointly implementing industrial trade and logistics complex, Maulen Ashimbayev, Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan told during the III Inter-Parliamentary Forum in Bishkek.

He noted that regional attention is required to increase regional and cross-border trade, develop partnerships in transit and transport, and launch new joint projects. Over the past five years, intraregional trade turnover has grown significantly, exceeding $10 billion.

It is important to encourage the construction of trade logistics networks and industrial hubs in border areas. In particular, Kazakhstan is jointly implementing a project with Kyrgyzstan to build an industrial trade and logistics complex. Similar infrastructure is also being created between other national regions. We, as parliamentarians, create and develop an effective legal framework that will simplify trade procedures, remove barriers, and stimulate new economic projects in the region.

In this regard, we have high hopes for the interaction of parliamentary deputies in Central Asia within the framework of this forum, he said.

Ashimbayev noted that the second important area is legislative support for the implementation of artificial intelligence and digitalization. Each country is actively working in this direction. We know that the Uzbek parliament is completing its review of a law on artificial intelligence. Kyrgyzstan has adopted a digital code. Kazakhstan is developing a digital code, which is planned to be adopted by the end of this year. A Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development was recently established, the official said.
