Kyrgyzstan and China’s Xi'an intend to boost trade and tourism

Bishkek, Sept. 24, 2025. /Kabar/. Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan Sultan Akhmatov held a bilateral meeting with Ye Niuping, Mayor of Xi'an, as part of a working visit to the People's Republic of China.

According to the ministry, during the talks, Sultan Akhmatov noted that the peoples of the two countries have been connected since ancient times by the Great Silk Road, which ran through a significant part of the Eurasian continent. This unique trade and humanitarian route connected the civilizations of China, India, Central Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. Today, in the 21st century, the traditions of friendship and cooperation established in those distant times are successfully strengthened in new historical circumstances.

The parties discussed the activities of the Trade House of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Kyrgyz-Chinese Center for Trade and Economic Cooperation, both operating in Xi'an.

Special attention was paid to the development of tourism cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and Xi'an.

The sides noted that the Kyrgyz-Chinese Center for Trade and Economic Cooperation could play a key role in this area.
