SCIA issues statement on passing of Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia

Manama, Sep. 23 (BNA):  The Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (SCIA) issued a condolence statement on the passing of Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Abdullah bin Mohammed Al AlSheikh, the Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia, who also served as the head of the Council of Senior Scholars, the General Presidency of Scholarly Research and Ifta, and the Supreme Council of the Muslim World League.

In a statement issued today, the Council emphasised that the late Grand Mufti was a distinguished figure of the Muslim Ummah, a devoted jurist who served Sharia with sincerity, a trusted source of religious guidance, a steadfast advocate of moderation, and a firm defender of the principles of the true faith.

With his vast knowledge, sound fatwas, sermons, lectures and lessons, he enlightened the muslim nation, guided its youth, and carried its mission to the wider world.

The Council noted that the late Grand Mufti's scholarly and religious contributions will remain a lasting beacon for future generations.
