Customs President meets Italian officials

Rome, Sep. 24 (BNA): Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa, President of Customs, visited the headquarters of the Financial Protection Authority in the Italian Republic, where he met Lieutenant General Vito Giordano, Head of the Second Directorate for Information Coordination and International Relations.
The meeting discussed means to enhance cooperation between the two sides in combating tax evasion, cybersecurity, and customs-related economic and cybercrimes. The Customs President was also briefed on Italy’s advanced practices in these vital areas.
Separately, Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad met Ambassador Francesco Talò, Special Envoy for the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC) Agreement Project. He outlined Bahrain’s competitive advantages as an integrated regional logistics hub and confirmed the Kingdom’s interest in enhancing cooperation with international partners by offering innovative, technology-based logistics solutions. He noted that this would enable Italian and European companies to benefit from the smart services and solutions provided by Bahrain’s logistics sector.
