Tourism executives emphasise Bahrain’s competitiveness for international events and conferences

Manama, Sep. 26 (BNA): Chief executives in Bahrain’s tourism sector emphasised their commitment to supporting development and consolidating the Kingdom’s position as a competitive destination for international events and conferences. They highlighted their contribution to government plans to grow promising economic sectors, including tourism, to diversify income sources and enhance quality of life.

 

In statements to the Bahrain News Agency (BNA) on the occasion of World Tourism Day, observed annually on September 27, they said Bahrain’s strategic partnerships, major projects, and integrated services across hotels, restaurants, leisure destinations, and conference facilities reflect its growing prominence on the global tourism map. They emphasised the importance of empowering national talent, innovation, and sustainability in line with Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030 and the Tourism Strategy 2022–2026.

 

Ahmed Janahi, Chief Executive of Gulf Hotels Group, said the group is implementing strategies to enhance Bahrain’s status as a preferred destination regionally and internationally, with investments covering hotels, restaurants, and hospitality services to meet visitor expectations and match the sector’s growth. He added that the group’s strategic partnerships with leading international institutions and its expansion in catering and restaurants reflect confidence in Bahrain’s investment climate and underscore the private sector’s role in supporting tourism development. He underlined the importance of qualifying and empowering national talent to strengthen Bahrain’s identity and meet the needs of future growth.

 

Dr. Essa Faqeeh, Chief Executive Officer of Al Areen Hospitality, said Bahrain combines authenticity, innovation, and business tourism, noting that the Tourism Strategy 2022–2026 provides a roadmap focused on sustainability, digital innovation, heritage preservation, and human capital development. He said Bahrain’s hosting of major conferences, exhibitions, and international events has reinforced its status as a regional business hub and as a preferred choice for global events that increase tourism returns and international visibility.

 

Engineer Ahmed Ali Al Ammadi, Chief Executive of Diyar Al Muharraq, said the company is committed to supporting Bahrain’s tourism sector in line with the Economic Vision, which focuses on economic diversification and creating integrated destinations that enhance quality of life and consolidate Bahrain’s position as a regional and international tourism hub. He noted that Diyar Al Muharraq is developing projects and services that strengthen Bahrain’s tourism offering and is working with partners to organise activities that boost Bahrain’s appeal as a destination.

 

Amin Al Arrayed, Chief Executive officer of Naseej, said the company’s 2025–2027 strategy aligns with government plans to advance promising sectors, particularly tourism, to enhance national welfare and support sustainable development goals. He noted that Naseej is focusing on local asset investment and diversifying its portfolio to include tourism and hospitality, with initiatives that expand tourism products, provide wider hospitality options, and increase the sector’s contribution to GDP while creating quality opportunities for national talent.
