Bahrain Participates in Arab Cybersecurity Ministers’ Council Session

Riyadh, Sep. 30 (BNA): The Kingdom of Bahrain, represented by the National Cybersecurity Centre (NCSC), participated in the second ordinary session of the Arab Cybersecurity Ministers Council, hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through its National Cybersecurity Authority. The session was attended by ministers and senior officials responsible for cybersecurity in the Arab League member states, as well as representatives of the Arab League General Secretariat.

The Kingdom of Bahrain’s delegation was headed by Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, CEO of the National Cyber Security Centre, who underscored the importance of participating in this session, noting that it serves as an important platform to enhance Arab cooperation and integration in cybersecurity while keeping pace with the rapid developments in the sector.

Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed further emphasised that Bahrain’s participation reflects its continued commitment to supporting Arab efforts to strengthen cybersecurity, unify positions and visions, and exchange knowledge and expertise to build a secure, reliable, and sustainable Arab cyberspace that serves the interests of all Arab countries and peoples.

During the session, the Council discussed several topics of shared interest among Arab states, most notably the approval of the draft Arab Cybersecurity Strategy, accession to membership in several leading international organisations and entities, as well as a range of working papers and proposals submitted by member states. These initiatives aim to support capacity building, develop policies, and enhance the exchange of expertise and best practices in cybersecurity, in line with the Council’s strategic objectives, primarily enhancing cooperation to improve readiness and coordinated response to cyber threats.

The Arab Cybersecurity Ministers Council comprises Arab ministers responsible for the cybersecurity sector. Its statute was adopted by the Arab League Council at the summit level, and the Council operates under the umbrella of the Arab League.
