Saudi Arabia to Face Indonesia in Opening Asian Playoff for 2026 World Cup
Jeddah, October 07, 2025, SPA -- The Saudi national football team (Green Falcons) will take a step closer to qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup when it faces Indonesia tomorrow at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah. The match marks the opening of Group B in the Asian playoff, the fourth round of the Asian qualifiers.
Saudi Arabia will play two decisive matches in Jeddah, against Indonesia tomorrow and Iraq next Tuesday. The group winner will qualify directly for the finals, scheduled to take place next year in the United States, Mexico, and Canada, while the runners-up will advance to two home-and-away matches on November 13 and 18 for a spot in the global playoff.
The Green Falcons aim to capitalize on their home-field advantage, having previously secured World Cup qualification from the same stadium in 2018 and 2022 — a record that boosts the team’s morale ahead of the playoffs.
