Uzbekistan Pavilion at Riyadh Book Fair Showcases Centuries-Old Civilizational Heritage

Riyadh, October 07, 2025, SPA -- The Republic of Uzbekistan is participating as the guest of honor at the Riyadh International Book Fair 2025, reflecting the depth of cultural ties between Saudi Arabia and Uzbekistan and underscoring the fair’s growing role as an international platform for dialogue and cultural exchange.
The pavilion highlights the history of Uzbek cities renowned through the ages as bastions of science, culture, and the arts. It also showcases the enduring influence of this heritage in architecture, ornamentation, and traditional crafts characterized by natural dyes and centuries-old techniques that remain deeply woven into everyday life in Uzbek society.
It also presents Uzbekistan’s artistic and cultural diversity through exhibits documenting the evolution of architectural and decorative arts, as well as textile and fabric craftsmanship that has flourished across generations.
The pavilion further explores the profound impact of Islam on shaping Uzbek civilization, demonstrated through Islamic architectural motifs and Arabic calligraphy, both integral elements of the country’s artistic and cultural identity still visible in many manuscripts and works today.
In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency, Minister of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ozodbek Nazarbekov emphasized that Uzbekistan’s participation as guest of honor reflects the deep cultural bonds between the two countries and embodies the spirit of openness that the Kingdom represents regionally and internationally.
He noted that his country’s participation represents an opportunity to enhance cultural cooperation and build bridges of communication between the two peoples. The minister highlighted Uzbekistan’s readiness to develop sustainable cultural partnerships with the Kingdom in publishing, translation, and literary and artistic events.
