Traffic Director-General receives Iraqi counterpart

Manama, Oct. 22 (BNA): Major General Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Abdulwahab Al Khalifa, Director General of Traffic, received Major General Dr. Uday Samir Halim, Director General of Traffic at the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Iraq.
Major General Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Abdulwahab emphasised that the visit came within the framework of the ties between Bahrain and Iraq. He noted that it reflects the shared commitment to strengthening cooperation and exchanging experiences and expertise in traffic, which contributes to improving performance and enhancing traffic efficiency in both countries.
Major General Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Abdulwahab noted that the meeting provides an opportunity to discuss issues of mutual interest and build effective partnerships that support developmental and traffic-related goals in both countries.
During the meeting, Bahrain’s experience in traffic arrangements and movement management during major events and occasions, such as Formula 1, was reviewed. The two sides also discussed areas of cooperation, joint coordination, and the exchange of expertise in modern traffic fields.
The delegation also visited the Traffic Control and Smart Systems Room, where they were briefed on the modern technologies used in monitoring and managing traffic flow, in addition to learning about Bahrain’s experience in assigning vehicle inspection services to the private sector.
