Transportation Ministry Undersecretaries participate in 27th GCC Transport, Communications Undersecretaries meeting in Kuwait

Kuwait, Oct. 23 (BNA): Bader Hood Al Mahmood, Undersecretary for Ports and Maritime Affairs at the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications, and Fatima Abdullah Al Dhaen, Undersecretary for Land Transport and Post Affairs at the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications, participated in the 27th meeting of the Committee of Undersecretaries of Transport and Communications Ministries in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, held in Kuwait.

The meeting discussed means to strengthen joint efforts and coordination in the transport and communications sector among GCC countries, focusing on the GCC Railway Project and the adoption of the General Agreement for Railway Linkage. It also approved the Unified Law for Land Transport and reviewed several issues related to maritime transport and ports.

Al Mahmood highlighted Bahrain’s keenness to support joint GCC efforts to enhance cooperation and integration in transport and communications, noting that the resolutions and recommendations adopted represent an important step towards greater economic and social integration among GCC countries.

For her part, Al Dhaen highlighted the importance of GCC cooperation in developing the land transport system. She emphasised the Kingdom’s commitment to actively contributing to the implementation of the Unified Law for Land Transport and to the exchange of best regulatory and technical practices among GCC states. These efforts aim to improve service efficiency and strengthen logistical and trade connectivity between member states.
