Parliamentary Division concludes its participation in 151st IPU Assembly

Geneva, Oct. 24 (BNA): The delegation of Bahrain’s Parliamentary Division, led by Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, concluded its participation in the 151st Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) held in Geneva from 19 to 23 October.
The Bahraini delegation participated in a series of meetings, including the IPU Governing Council and various parliamentary forums, focusing on issues such as gender equality, peace and security, sustainable development, and promoting dialogue and coexistence.
Throughout the sessions, the delegation actively contributed to discussions and presented proposals supporting humanitarian and development priorities, reflecting Bahrain’s commitment to parliamentary diplomacy and international cooperation.
The Assembly adopted the “Geneva Declaration,” which affirms the importance of upholding humanitarian principles, protecting civilians in times of conflict, and ensuring the neutrality of aid. It also underscores the responsibility of parliaments in promoting international humanitarian law, empowering women and youth, and advancing justice, equality, and sustainable development worldwide.
