The committee discussed key agenda items, including political and security developments in the Arab region, coordination on regional issues, and adoption of the committee’s work plan for the 2025-2026 session.

Al Maawda said that the Kingdom of Bahrain, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, remains committed to reinforcing Arab national security and promoting peace and international cooperation. He commended the Arab parliament’s efforts in monitoring political and security developments and coordinating Arab positions in regional and international forums.

He underscored that Bahrain pursues a consistent policy aimed at strengthening Arab national security and consolidating cooperation and integration among Arab and Islamic states. This approach is grounded in dialogue, peaceful coexistence, and a firm belief that stability is the foundation for regional and global development and prosperity.

Al Maawda noted that the Kingdom's positions are guided by the conviction that safeguarding Arab national security requires unified stances, strengthened political and parliamentary coordination, and the adoption of peaceful solutions to regional conflicts. He emphasised that comprehensive Arab security includes protecting the resources of nations, promoting development, and addressing political, security, and economic challenges facing the region.

He highlighted the focus of Bahrain’s legislative authorities on enhancing Arab and Islamic parliamentary cooperation to support national security objectives, promote a culture of dialogue and understanding, and unify positions on critical issues facing the Arab and Islamic nations, foremost among them the Palestinian cause. He underlined the Kingdom's steady support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and its commitment to providing urgent humanitarian assistance to them amid ongoing hardships.

Al Maawda underscored that achieving just and lasting peace in the region constitutes a cornerstone in Arab national security and stability.
