Bahrain participates in Economic Committee of Arab Parliament meeting

Cairo, Oct. 28 (BNA): Ibtisam Mohamed Saleh Al Dalal, member of the Services Committee at the Shura Council and a member of the Economic and Financial Affairs Committee of the Arab Parliament, participated in the meeting of the Economic and Financial Committee of the Arab Parliament, held at the headquarters of the League of Arab States in Cairo.

The meeting discussed the Arab Parliament's final financial report for 2024, the financial contributions of member states, initiatives to support the blue economy in Arab countries, and means to enhance cooperation with regional and international economic institutions.

Al Dalal said that the Kingdom of Bahrain continues to extend its full support to Arab efforts aimed at achieving economic integration and strengthening the environment for joint investment among Arab states. These efforts, she noted, contribute to realising sustainable development and improving the standard of living for Arab citizens, in implementation of the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and with the support of His Royal Highness Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

She noted that the Shura Council’s participation in the meetings of the Arab Parliament comes as part of the legislative authority’s commitment to support the advancement of joint Arab parliamentary work, exchange expertise in areas of legislation and financial oversight, and coordinate Arab positions on global economic issues. She underscored the importance of joining parliamentary efforts to achieve Arab food and water security, diversify income sources, and stimulate the digital economy in line with Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030.

Al Dalal highlighted the role played by Bahraini and Arab women in economic development and entrepreneurship, commending the great support that Bahraini women receive under the leadership of HM the King, and through the follow-up of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibraheem Al Khalifa, Consort of HM the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women. She noted that the council’s national programmes and initiatives have enhanced women’s presence in work and production, empowering them to play a role in the national economy.

She explained that these efforts complement national initiatives aimed at providing three job opportunities for every job seeker, reflecting the government’s commitment to enhancing sustainable development pathways and empowering national talents across various sectors.

Al Dalal underscored that the Arab Parliament serves as an effective platform for promoting cooperation and integration among Arab countries, expressing pride in representing Bahrain on the committee and her commitment to continue working with Arab representatives to serve shared interests and support the prosperity and stability of the region.
