Indonesia ready to be world's green bridge through carbon market

Belém (ANTARA) - Environment Minister Hanif Faisol Nurofiq said the Indonesia Pavilion reflects the country’s readiness to serve as a bridge for global green cooperation through a high-integrity carbon market.

“We are not only here to negotiate, but to show that Indonesia is ready to become a green bridge for the world,” Hanif said at the Indonesia Pavilion during the 30th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP30) in Belém, Brazil, on Monday (Nov 10).

He added that Indonesia aims to connect governments, businesses, and global communities through the carbon market initiative.

The Indonesia Pavilion, themed “Accelerating Substantial Actions for Net Zero Achievement through Indonesia’s High-Integrity Carbon Market,” features more than 50 dialogue sessions, including ministerial and CEO forums, as well as a Seller Meet Buyer platform connecting global carbon credit traders.

Throughout the two-week COP30, the Indonesia pavilion serves as a showcase of Indonesia’s green diplomacy and cross-sector initiatives, covering efforts in forestry, energy, industry, and waste management.

The pavilion also promotes bilateral cooperation with strategic partners such as the United Kingdom and The Royal Foundation. These partnerships aim to strengthen green financing and support the transfer of low-emission technologies.

“Environmental diplomacy no longer stops at the negotiation table. It is time for real implementation,” Hanif said, emphasizing Indonesia’s commitment to working with global partners toward a fair and low-emission future.

The 30th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP30) takes place from November 10 to 21, 2025, in Belém, Brazil.
