Iran, Uzbekistan reach agreement to boost investment in mining and mineral industries

Tehran, IRNA – Iran and Uzbekistan have reached new agreements to expand cooperation and investment in the mining and mineral industries, marking a significant step toward strengthening bilateral economic relations.

During his visit to Tashkent, Uzbekistan, Iran’s Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Mohammad Atabak held talks with Uzbekistan’s Minister of Mining and Geology Islamov Bobur Farxodovich and Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov on Tuesday.

The Iranian minister said that the agreements reached in this meeting herald a significant leap in the level of trade and commercial exchanges between the two countries.

He added that although the trend of cooperation is on an upward path, based on the serious determination of the presidents of both countries, the two sides must achieve the outlined visions.

The Iranian delegation, headed by Minister Atabak, arrived in Tashkent on November 9. He is accompanied by senior officials from Iran’s industrial and mining sectors.

On the first day of the visit, the delegation, accompanied by Iran’s ambassador to Uzbekistan Mohammad Ali Eskandari, met with Iranian entrepreneurs and business representatives active in that country.

Discussions also focused on developing joint mining ventures, enhancing customs processes, and leveraging the industrial capacities of both nations to foster sustainable economic growth.
