Iraq, EU Advisory Mission Discuss Ways To Enhance Cooperation In Combating Violent Extremism

Baghdad / NINA /- National Security Advisor Qasim al-Araji met with the head of the European Union Advisory Mission in Iraq, Ralph Schroeder, and his accompanying delegation to discuss strengthening cooperation between the mission and the Iraqi government in combating violent extremism leading to terrorism and developing investigative methods.
According to a statement from the National Security Chancellery, Schroeder praised the role of the psychological unit within the National Security Chancellery, its diligent work, and the results it has achieved. He also commended Iraq's role in the conference held yesterday at the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the National Security Strategy 2025-2030, noting that it is a comprehensive strategy representing the Iraqi state's vision for protecting society.
For his part, al-Araji affirmed that the National Security Chancellery’s Committee for Combating Violent Extremism Leading to Terrorism operates within a legal government program to combat hatred and reject sectarian rhetoric, in accordance with a national vision that strengthens social cohesion. /End
