Attorney General receives Moroccan Prosecution delegation

Manama, Nov. 17 (BNA):  Attorney General Dr. Ali bin Fadhl Al Buainain received a delegation from the Presidency of the Public Prosecution of the Kingdom of Morocco.

The delegation is visiting the Kingdom of Bahrain to review the implementation of Alternative Sanctions and Measures Law and its outcomes, as well as to learn about the role of the Public Prosecution and other competent authorities in enforcing its provisions.

The Attorney General commended the constructive and longstanding cooperation between the Public Prosecution authorities of both countries, noting that the exchange of expertise and effective legal practices plays a vital role in strengthening prosecutorial capabilities and enhancing overall performance.

The Public Prosecution is scheduled to hold a briefing for the delegation on the Alternative Sanctions and Measures law, outlining its objectives, justifications, and regulatory framework, as well as the roles of the Public Prosecution, law enforcement bodies, executive authorities, and civil society organisations in its implementation.

The delegation will also be introduced to the results achieved by the law, including its effectiveness in realising the intended purposes of custodial penalties and its positive humanitarian and social impact on beneficiaries.
