Malaysian Brands Triumph At 20th World Branding Awards In Osaka

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 19 (Bernama) -- Malaysian power brands, including Farm Fresh, Getha, Maybank, MR DIY, Munchy's, Spritzer, Perodua, Petronas, Tenaga Nasional Berhad, Watsons, and ZUS Coffee, shone on the global stage after securing top honours at the 20th World Branding Awards.

The awards, which recognise outstanding achievement across the National, Regional, and Global tiers, saw more than 1,092 brands from 66 countries nominated as “Brand of the Year” in the 2025–2026 edition, with fewer than 100 brands ultimately emerging as winners.

According to a statement, the World Branding Awards Ceremony was held outside London for the first time, marking its debut at the Osaka City Museum of Fine Arts, where more than 80 international guests attended the celebration.

“The World Branding Awards goes beyond celebrating success; we spotlight the unwavering effort, vision, and emotional resonance behind it. Every brand is honoured on a global pedestal, recognised not just for what it sells, but for what it stands for,” said World Branding Forum Chairman, Richard Rowles.

Global winners honoured for excellence in their respective industries include IKEA (Sweden), Lurpak (Denmark), Sennheiser (Germany), and Yakult (Japan). National tier winners span markets such as Thailand’s Aurora, Indonesia’s Evolene, Taiwan’s Chunghwa Telecom, and Germany’s Edeka, among others.

Only 20 brands earned the prestigious Regional Tier award, recognised for their influence across four or more countries in three or more regional markets. These include Malaysia’s MR DIY and Watsons, Thailand’s M-150 and Vitaday, South Africa’s Amarula, Japan’s Nippon Rent-A-Car, and Hong Kong’s Tsui Wah.

This year, more than 91,000 consumers participated in the global nomination process. With an average of just five winners per country, securing a World Branding Award remains a significant and highly competitive achievement.
