Two militants among 3 killed in Doda encounter

Jammu, July 17 (PTI) Two militants were among three
persons killed in a gunbattle with security force at Doda
district in India's northern state of Jammu and Kashmir, 170
kms from here, on Friday.

On a tip off that the militants were lodged in the
house of a woman in Prem Nagar area of Doda district, they
laid a cordon off the hideout Friday morning, police said.

On seeing the security men closing in, the militants
fired at them, who fired back triggering the gunbattle.

The three have been identified as Suhel, Ishaq Khan
and Shakeela.

Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Doda-Kishtwar range,
Himant Lohia alleged that the woman was involved in a
relationship with the two militants. PTI
