Black boxes of Yemeni jetliner to be recovered soon
SANA'A, July 16 (Saba) - The Committee on Monitoring Civil Aviation Accidents said
Thursday that a French ship equipped with a surveyors is due at the site where a
Yemeni jetliner crashed late last month in the Indian Ocean on Friday morning.
The ship will survey the site where the black boxes were previously detected. The
committee said in a statement that data from surveys to be conducted over 4-5 days
will help searchers identify suitable tools to retrieve the plane recorders.
Meanwhile, French divers participating in search for the wreckage and bodies from
the crash has left the Comorian coast after it could locate the recorders.
Earlier, France announced that it never opposes that other countries contribute to
probing the crash. On June 30, a Yemeni jetliner with 153 people including a crew of
11 aboard plunged into the Indian Ocean off Comoros Archipelago.
Only a 14-year-old French girl could survive. Some debris including large pieces and
a bout 20 bodies were recovered.
