Foreign Affairs Chief of Arab and African Affairs Sector participates in International Day of Solidarity with Palestinian People

Manama, Dec. 1 (BNA): Ambassador Ahmed Mohammed Al Tarifi, Chief of the Arab and African Affairs Sector at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, participated in the event held to mark the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian people. The event was organised by the Embassy of the State of Palestine in the Kingdom of Bahrain, in cooperation with the United Nations in the Kingdom, on November 30.

During the event, Ambassador Ahmed Mohammed Al Tarifi affirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s firm position in support of the Palestinian cause, stressing that Bahrain continues to harness its diplomacy and its membership in various United Nations bodies to support this just cause and to back the struggle of the Palestinian people to attain their legitimate rights.

He also called on the international community to assume its historical and moral responsibilities, and to work earnestly towards achieving a just and comprehensive peace, in accordance with the relevant United Nations resolutions, including Security Council resolutions, the two-state solution, and the 2002 Arab Peace Initiative.

Ambassador Ahmed Mohammed Al Tarifi further noted that the Kingdom of Bahrain will, during its upcoming two-year term as a non-permanent member of the Security Council, continue to support all efforts aimed at securing full United Nations membership for the State of Palestine. He underscored the need for the international community to shoulder its legal and humanitarian responsibilities in support of this path, in line with international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative, in a manner that ensures security and stability for all the peoples of the region.
