AI helps Vietnamese businesses conquer choosy markets

Hanoi, December 3 (VNA) - The application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is making a significant impact on the Vietnamese business community, helping to reduce costs, increase accuracy, and expand export opportunities in the face of increasingly fierce global competition.

Recently, Saigon Food Joint Stock Company (SGF), a producer of fresh meals and ready-to-eat foods, announced it has chosen a translation platform supported by Generative AI (GenAI) from Cloud Kinetics (Singapore) to boost its export activities.

The decision to adopt AI for translation is a major milestone in SGF's digital transformation journey. By using the GenAI solution, the company will streamline its document processing for global export operations, enhancing compliance and operational speed.

Le Quoc Hung, Deputy General Director at Saigon Food, shared that the GenAI solution helps the company’s export become faster, more accurate, flexible, and efficient.

As a key export partner to demanding markets such as Japan, and soon to the EU, the US, and the Republic of Korea, Saigon Food frequently handles a large volume of specialised multilingual documents. In the past, the manual translation process was time-consuming, costly, and prone to errors, particularly with technical food-related terminology. This created risks in meeting international safety standards, which could impact the company’s reputation and export processes.

Now, AI-powered translation has become a game changer for the company, enhancing its ability to connect with customers and process export orders with high accuracy.

AI solutions, which were once primarily used in banking, finance, insurance, and retail, are now being increasingly adopted by businesses in consumer goods, food production, manufacturing, and exports.

According to Deloitte’s report “AI for Business: APAC Trends in AI Adoption”, 93% of businesses in Vietnam have implemented at least one AI tool for communication and customer engagement, demonstrating a high level of readiness for technological innovation.

A study by Amazon Web Services (AWS) published in September 2025 reveals that in less than a year, 170,000 new businesses in Vietnam have implemented AI in their operations and service delivery.

It can be said that AI is unlocking unprecedented opportunities for Vietnamese businesses, helping to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, increase revenue, and enhance global competitiveness.

The AI market in Vietnam was valued at approximately 470 million USD in 2022 and is expected to reach 1.52 billion USD by 2030, with a growth rate of nearly 16% per year, according to Google.

A report from AWS Vietnam highlights that AI has become a key factor in determining business performance. Among businesses that have adopted AI, 61% reported increased revenue, with an average growth rate of 16%. Around 58% of businesses expect AI to help save 20% in costs.

To date, around 80% of large global businesses have integrated AI into their digital transformation strategies. Vietnamese manufacturers are not exempt from this trend. Approximately 70% of Vietnamese businesses report that they plan to increase investment in AI over the next three years.

The push for AI adoption is further reinforced by the government's leadership. With support in terms of policies, technological infrastructure, and innovation incentives, Vietnamese businesses are presented with opportunities to integrate AI more deeply into every aspect of production and business operations. This not only enhances internal efficiency but also creates a competitive advantage in the international market./.
