King Hamad Global Center for Coexistence and Tolerance organises visit for President of the Council of Ministers of the Italian Republic to the Cathedral of Our Lady of Arabia

Manama, Dec. 3 (BNA): Her Excellency Giorgia Meloni, President of the Council of Ministers of the Italian Republic, visited the Cathedral of Our Lady of Arabia in Awali. HE Giorgia Meloni was accompanied by Her Excellency Noor bint Ali Alkhulaif, Minister of Sustainable Development, in an event organised by the King Hamad Global Center for Coexistence and Tolerance, in the presence of His Excellency Bishop Aldo Berardi, Apostolic Vicar of Northern Arabia, Muneera Nofal Al Doseri, Executive Director of the Center, and a number of religious and official figures.


 

During the visit, HE the Italian President of the Council of Ministers expressed appreciation for the pioneering experience of the Kingdom of Bahrain, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, in respecting freedom of religion and belief, upholding the values of tolerance and coexistence, and promoting a culture of peace and dialogue among civilizations, cultures, and religions.


 

HE Giorgia Meloni was briefed on the role of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Arabia as a prominent religious and civil landmark that reflects the spirit of goodwill, tolerance, openness, and religious and cultural diversity in Bahrain, as well as the social harmony among all components of society.


 

On her part, Muneera Al Doseri, Executive Director of the King Hamad Global Center for Coexistence and Tolerance, delivered a briefing on the Center’s role in raising awareness of the values of tolerance, mutual respect, and coexistence among peoples, and on its key initiatives, projects, and academic and training programmes in partnership with local and international religious, cultural, and parliamentary institutions, in addition to the religious and community events organised by the Center to promote interfaith and intercultural dialogue and human and cultural rapprochement.
