Kyrgyzstan, UK sign memorandum on critical minerals

Bishkek, Dec. 4, 2025. /Kabar/. A bilateral meeting of the official delegation of Kyrgyzstan, led by Nurbek Tashbekov, Head of the Political and Economic Research Department of the Presidential Administration of Kyrgyzstan, with Stephen Doughty, Minister of State for Europe, North America and the Overseas Territories of the United Kingdom, was held.

According to the Cabinet of Ministers, the meeting took place as part of the Kyrgyz delegation's working visit to the United Kingdom (United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland).

The trip was aimed at participating in the "Resources of Tomorrow 2025" forum as part of the annual Mining Week in London. During the talks, the parties discussed the current state and prospects for development of Kyrgyz-British cooperation, the expansion of mutual investments, as well as strengthening business ties and promoting joint projects.

As a result of the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding on Critical Minerals was signed between the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

The document provides for cooperation in the field of geological exploration, the introduction of high environmental, social and governance standards, the development of business ties and the exchange of experience.

The signing of the Memorandum creates a new platform for deepening Kyrgyz-British relations, contributes to the expansion of economic partnership and opens up additional opportunities for attracting investments and developing projects in the field of critical minerals.
