Riyadh Municipality Sets New Guinness World Record through 'Riyadh Volunteers' Initiative

Riyadh, December 08, 2025, SPA -- The Riyadh Region Municipality achieved a new Guinness World Record by registering the largest number of volunteers on an accredited volunteering platform within a single week in Riyadh on December 8, after the number of registered volunteers in the initiative reached 14,642 — an accomplishment that reflects the growing culture of volunteering in Riyadh and the role of society in supporting environmental and developmental initiatives.
Riyadh Region Municipality Assistant Deputy Mayor of Community Engagement Abdulwahab bin Fardan received the official record certificate from Guinness World Records representatives during a ceremony held in Riyadh to celebrate the global achievement.
The accomplishment builds on the support provided by the Riyadh Region Municipality, led by Riyadh Region Mayor Prince Dr. Faisal bin Ayyaf, to promote community participation and volunteerism and expand its impact across the city.
The "Riyadh Volunteers" initiative so far has witnessed wide participation exceeding 30,000 male and female volunteers in field activities distributed across several tracks, including planting, cleaning activities, monitoring and treatment, food preservation, and clothes recycling, contributing to enhancing the urban environment, supporting sustainability efforts, and improving the quality of life across the city.
