Foreign Minister meets Italian Ambassador, EU ambassadors to GCC countries

Manama, Dec. 8 (BNA): Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Andrea Catalano, Ambassador of the Italian Republic to the Kingdom of Bahrain, and several European Union ambassadors accredited to the Gulf Cooperation Council countries. The meeting was held on the occasion of the ambassadors’ gathering in Bahrain.

Dr. Al Zayani noted the Kingdom’s selection as the host for this important diplomatic meeting. He commended the longstanding cooperation between Bahrain and the ambassadors’ respective countries, and the efforts made at all levels to enhance these ties and expand cooperation across various domains for mutual benefit.

The Foreign Minister also commended the results of the visit by Her Excellency Giorgia Meloni, President of the Council of Ministers of Italy, to the Kingdom for the 46th session of the GCC Supreme Council as a Guest of Honour. The visit highlighted the high level of Bahraini-Italian relations and the progress of cooperation between the GCC and Italy, reflecting the strong ties between the two sides.

The meeting included discussions on current regional and international developments and their impact on regional and global security and stability, means to enhance continuous consultation and coordination, efforts to resolve regional conflicts, and promote just and comprehensive peace. Other issues of mutual interest were also reviewed.
